My Virtual FD has partnered up with our sister firm, Blyth Accountants, which is an ACCA regulated accountancy firm. Blyth clients regularly require business and tax advisory, but it is when that advisory becomes more in-depth and complex, that’s when My Virtual FD gets more involved.
Over the past few years we have noticed that Blyth clients have grown and have stepped up their advisory needs, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. My Virtual FD have dealt with the setting up of complex company structures, delved into the operational side of businesses where clients needed advice, and hand holding, on how to operate more efficiently and effectively, and needed that additional voice at Board meetings. We have presented accurate and enhanced financial reports, containing budgets and projections, to allow Company Directors and Shareholders to make informed decisions on how to progress in their industry.
My Virtual FD have recognised a gap in the market where small to medium sized businesses cannot afford to pay a full-time Finance Director. We work remotely and will attend your office at your request. We charge on a retainer basis and will get involved in short and long-term projects. The living document of your business and industry.
At My Virtual FD, we fully recognise the importance of our clients investing the time and effort into preparing a robust business plan. A Business Plan is a live sector specific, large document which is very much bespoke to the preparing business which includes enhanced current and future financial information. The document can contain 30+ pages and is referred to as the business bible.
Businesses prepare this document taking into account for up to a period of 5+ years and it is referred to frequently over the period of time. It is a live document where figures are regularly updated and challenged on from time to time. Business plans are there as a benchmark, not only for financial purposes, but also to refer to as the business direction and market changes. It is a continuously updated document as the business progresses.
My Virtual FD get involved with the business plan process and development of the document. We sit with you as you strategise the next 3-5+ years and help you to create the document. With our clients input and liaison, we also prepare the full document for the business. This exercise includes industry and market analysis including supply & demand analysis, competition and SWOT analysis. We perform financial analysis, design financial models and prepare financial forecasts for our clients business as part of the full-house service.

At My Virtual FD we understand what it takes to create a successful forecasting and budgeting process. We know how important it is to have accurate and up-to-date financial data, as well as a clear understanding of your businesses goals and objectives. No only does forecasting and budgeting refer to your business plan, it also keeps you motivated and on track with the business movements.
When a business forecasts into the future, it is generally a 3-5 year plan, and usually no longer than this due to forever changing market conditions and other external factors that may impact the business. Forecasting is mainly based on past financial information and trends and if the market is steady, a business can feel comfortable enough to cast forward based on this information. A business can then set budgets based on their financial forecast, looking to achieve more sales at certain times of the year (trends), setting spend limits on certain overheads and ensuring a lucrative cashflow for any incidentals that may crop up along the way.
